"Yes, you can do it, In-fact you are the president" As he left, little did he know that he had sparked serious success revolution in my mind and I was willing to stake all my resources on the upcoming students council elections of The Kenya Methodist University.
I believe I am among the best in terms of coming up with a proper pre-determined course of action that will yield tremendous results in the end. I saw it and I had to move with speed.

The question that always raced my thoughts was, "What do you do when thousand others want what you want?" Eric Thomas.
I heard this rhetorical question from one of his motivational speeches that has really changed the lives of many young and old people in the world.
It took me months to prepare "adequately" for just a days activity that would later see KeMU experience rigorous leadership style from strike, students empowerment, criticism, suspension, networking and successful graduation. It is a fact that whenever you put together the purpose and desire to get what you want, you will certainly own it with pride and joy.
The months were nine in total, it began in 2018, closure of third trimester. My leadership role in the university had kept me on toes and my guts were murmuring that I can and I must be the first Chairman of Kenya Methodist University Students Association as per the bill which was signed into law by the President of the Republic of Kenya on 16th December, 2016 which changed the students leadership structure and electoral process.
This act meant that the elections shall be done by the delegates who are the representative of different schools in the university, for instance, School of Business and Economics was to produce three delegates conforming with a two-third gender rule. Potential leaders saw it as crippling the will of the "people" - comrades. Previously students could elect their leaders the same way as the Kenyan electoral process.
First month, second month the D day drew closer and closer as I kept moving towards the goal I had set to achieve, then came the series of challenges including the financial muscle that maintains the mood of operation. The strong winds of campus politics and king pins of schools who are the class representatives who could utter some words which threatened the success of my goal.
I made series of movements from one campus to the other in search of potential delegates who would later make me the Chairman, it was all about time and the convincing power of the young man from Soy who had navigated the road to slopes of Mt. Kenya searching for higher education - an opportunity the society conjecture that the responsible guardian should pause and reap the fruits after the graduation of the student.
Only one idea is enough to solve all your muddles, since I had experienced a series of difficulty in buying tickets to travel from one campus to the other, I found it wise to find an opportunity to work as a casual laborer and use the wage to suffice my travelling costs rather than to request anybody else. It is wise to seek help when you are already in the journey to your destination.
The task then was heavy grind in a view of the fact that I was studying, however, I had vowed to throw all self in this game. When a man really desires a thing so deeply that he is willing to stake his entire future on a single turn of a wheel in order to get it , he is sure to win. I was and will always be success conscious. As I maneuvered through the journey, negative messages stepped in, however, the hope and faith kept me alive in the spirit of winning.

Community social responsibility was one of the pillars that made me stand out among the players of the 2019/20 elections at KeMU. Unfortunately, campus politics today seems to reject the very concept of objective truth and the value of the surrounding business community, leadership and the existing governments in the region.
I took this niche and maximized properly to my advantage, engaging the community from health & sanitation campaigns to attending chief barazas. These activities gave me the opportunity to communicate a mutual relationship between the students and the community.
It was at this point that the campaign was led by the community itself, since you could hear utterances by female vegetable vendors, "election ya shule ikifika mpatie huyo kijana anaitwa Buzeki." The ball was already rolling and I had to derive a method to control it and defeat misunderstanding from the university electoral commission since I was running for an elective position in the University and not Imenti North Constituency.
The year is 2019 January, I had already made up my mind and I had scheduled the new year to shoot the breeze to my loved ones. "Nothing can stop me now, you know?" I kept telling myself. The news was well received despite an hesitation from one of my siblings who reminded me I was in the University to study. TD jakes had already spoken to me earlier that, there are areas where you will step alone even your closest people will not be allowed to be with you. The New York Best selling Author equated it to the last point your loved ones wave at you as you board the plane at the airport. This was the point the inspiration speeches by Thomas Dexter had inspired me to break the glass ceiling and be me.
As I registered for the first trimester 2019, comrades were coming round, comrades were now looking for the bottom line. They were looking for leadership that was going to make a difference in their campus lives, they were in dire need of performance, delivery and results, Period. I was in full time. My analysis was robust enough to capture the victory. My name could be heard in Mombasa and Nairobi campus, this was a shocker for the campus deep state haha! - this will later show you that when the supreme being has already approved your request, then you must move with alacrity to hold on to the victory. Remember we are fighting from a stance of victory, we have the victory.
The university dean of students was moving with time to revise the constitution and introduce the bill that was now the law. Circumstances known to the team leading the revision slowed the process hence affecting the election calendar, speculations and conspiracy theories were born and bred for five months. There were extreme speculations such as, the university is slowing this process down to run the activities with the weak caretaker government.

All said and done, the second trimester stepped in with the election calendar, the month of May was scary, my movements were characterized by calculation, uniqueness, stealth and choosing of words. I was aware that any mistake might affect my long awaited candidature.
Like King of the jungle, it stays hidden in the grass and let the prey to come close. It makes a very stealthy and slow movement towards their prey. After getting close to a cashable distance, they charge upon the prey quickly. Junglehttps://i.imgur.com/JXUr3j5.jpg
June 2019, we was experiencing rough political terrain, it had a lot of dictates, power brokers carried the day. With the status I had assumed as the man at the zenith of 2019 KeMUSA elections, I received enormous support from a team of hardly twelve gentlemen who were ready to offer their precious time to plan and execute for the next thirty days to election day.
You might be asking yourself, where are the competitors, well I never paid detailed attention to their loose tongues and itchy fingers that typed anything on WhatsApp groups. The only information I had in my mind was do not underestimate anyone, however they were misguided elements, political charlatans and misplaced energy.
Teamwork is an important tool, it is the collaborative effort of a group to achieve a common goal or to complete a task in the most effective and efficient way. Our team had a brave approach in everything, strong mindset, well coordinated teamwork, graceful and agile moves in resolving conflicts and winning delegates, this made our competitors terrified. I will always give them a standing ovation, they made it happen without a single cent. It was done out of passion and trust in my agenda to lead the university students who had already lost hope in student representation.
The days began at three in the morning and ended at one am, we barely slept or I would say we slept faster, especially me. Day time I could be greeted with friendly comments, "Umekonda sana bana! hii siasa inakupeleka mbio?" I always laughed off such comments, and immediately unleash my manifesto explainer.

Such conversations could pull comrades one by one until we became a large crowd enough to stop normal routine at the university premises. My bad, I could realize I have insufficient token for them as Babu Owino could share his with The University of Nairobi comrades. Thank God, most of them were not interested rather they needed the leadership in me.
Be success conscious, closed minds do not inspire faith, courage and belief. Desiring success with a state of mind that it becomes an obsession, then planning definite ways and means to acquire this "success" & backing those plans with persistence which does not recognize failure will bring a perfect win.
Closer & closer to the day, various challenges ranging from finances to unhealthy competition drew closer and the urge to quit was building a castle in my mind. Every winner, every successful person on earth has had the urge to quit, this feeling is always armed with excuses and all reasons you should quit. I ask you to ignore it at all cost, as a human being you need to develop the weaponry of Nehemiah in the Bible, it is a great illustration of great leadership because, he builds the walls of Jerusalem, which he is helping the people of Jerusalem while he is being fought on every side. Build with one hand a fight with the other, do not be distracted.
Winning Team

For every successful win in campus election, you must have a brilliant, nationalistic and sharp team. The chairperson's position must have a vice chairperson of the opposite gender, I had done my due hunting and therefore, my "other half" could spare me the heavy task of wooing the female votes in the university. Susan Wangari the former miss KeMU, she is astute, inquisitive resourceful and skilled. She was a perfect deputy for me and up to the task, She had already developed a variety of skills and talents that helped her in both everyday life and more challenging situations. I was in now for the general who could spearhead the decisions agreed by the entire team - secretary general. I met this young energetic man from the school of medicine and health sciences, at first, I doubted if he was sincere because students from medical school would prefer focusing on their academics, although my potential vice chair was from medical school, she had made efforts before to engage in extracurricular activities.
James takes no days off from excellence, and his consistently sharp appearance demonstrates respect for himself and his environment, wherever he may be. He is well-spoken and a focused listener. He demonstrates conversational competence and leaves others feeling inspired, engaged, and understood. He manages his tone and body language to maximize connection, my interaction with him made me close the chapter of the winning team as I had baited the others, "now that we have James and Susan case closed!" Exclaimed one of my Team. Politics, Yes case closed.
Fight going down not climbing up - Art of War by Sun Tzu, we were already up the mountain and the "enemy" was on a low ground. You have to fool opponents into taking it easy, and then make haste, the remaining three potential leaders representing the finance, sports & entertainment and Accommodation had eyes and could see that we were on top of the mountain and winning was inevitable. The rest was history, 98% of the votes cast was in favor of Buzeki. It was a celebration that remains in the books of history at KeMU. Then followed the challenges that made and shaped the student leadership thereafter. https://youtu.be/nlbzYpVfowA
Cost volume profit analysis is a managerial technique used to determine how costs and profit are affected by changes in the level of different activities. Student leaders are managers.

They are students in the position to influence, motivate, and guide others toward achievement of a goal. The student must be in an elected or appointed position of leadership and serve to represent the interest of the students, when this main role is invisible then the students perish.
It is very important that all the universities in the world demonstrate mutual understanding with the students because then, without students there is no university and vice versa.
I passionately wrote this blog because I represent a very large number of young people like me who share a background like mine and there are people who do not believe that it can be done. I challenge you to make a comprehensive analysis of your goals whatever they are, and be brave, ambitious and self-reliant surely it will come to pass.
